My wife and I are both very devout. Unfortunately our teenage son has faith that can only be described as “wobbly”.
Take Easter, for instance. What does our beloved son want to do on this weekend of reflection and renewal? Spend Holy Saturday with his “grunge band” mates, that’s what!
He even said that Saturday should be “exempt” from Church activities because that’s the day when Jesus was in his tomb “just lying there not doing anything” so it’s just an “ordinary Saturday”.
To “prove his point”, he’s also using the fact that most shops are open on Holy Saturday. This was his idea of winning the argument on a “technicality”.
How on earth do we cut through this “teenage rebelliousness”? All we want is to share this sacred time with him.
“Rebel Without a Cause”
Dear “Rebel Without a Cause”,
You know, it’s funny you should mention this. Just the other day I was staring at the “calendar”. And I noticed for the first time – ever – that “Saturday” has a big “turd” in the middle of it. “Weekends” will never be the same again.
Hope this helps.
With kind regards,
