Dear Yak,
Assassinations. Earthquakes. Car accidents. Suicide bombers. Climate Change. Poverty. Fear. What’s going on with the human race? Watching the news, you’d think that bad stuff is inevitable and there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it.
I’m sorry but I just don’t accept this! We have choices and we control our own destinies. Nothing is etched in stone. It’s all about keeping a positive attitude. For example, I heard that the Northern White Rhino was recently removed from the Endangered List. But we won’t be hearing about that on the 6 o’clock news. Good things are happening all the time, but it’s always the bad stuff that gets publicity. Why is this so?
Regards,
Cheap and Cheerful,
Dear Cheap and Cheerful,
I suppose it’s very easy to be positive when you’re not on the Endangered List yourself. Don’t take this the wrong way, but your question is tedious and self indulgent and you sound like you’ve swallowed a couple of really bad self help books.
But you also raise some valid points. It’s true that nothing is etched in stone. In fact I noticed these very words just the other day when I was strolling through the cemetery. They were etched in a headstone and I stopped to ponder their infinite wisdom and truth.
And you’re also right about the Northern White Rhino being removed from the Endangered List. But that’s because it became extinct last February. Oops.
Hope this helps.
With kind regards,
The Yak
