Gym Fail

May 25, 2018 by The Yak Leave a Comment

Dear Yak,

The other day at the gym there was a noisy bunch of human gorillas. They were grunting loudly, spitting on the floor and generally acting as if they owned the gym.

One of them made a big show of how much he could bench press. But he got stuck under some really heavy weights and started yelling in pain. It looked like he might have cracked his sternum. It took all the other gorillas to free him. I laughed up my sleeve.

My training partner thought I was being rude and insensitive. But I reckon if someone is stupid and arrogant enough to overestimate themselves, they deserve the humiliation of a gym fail. What do you think?

Yours sincerely,

Gorillas in the Mist

Dear Gorillas in the Mist,

Absolutely! And this is exactly the reason why the savvy gym operator always makes sure there’s a couple of human gorillas in the membership. These primitive beings serve two important functions

  1. They’re often walking, grunting examples of how NOT to do things, which can save other gym users from potential injury.
  2. Their gym fails provide amusement and entertainment for everyone else, especially when they’re really undignified and painful.

Hope this helps.

With kind regards,

The Yak
