I’m going to say it. There are lots of people right now who are privately enjoying the fact that million dollar beachside properties are falling into the ocean while less valuable houses in lower socio-economic areas further inland are safe.
And what about that partially-washed away swimming pool dangling over the edge? Was there ever a more perfect visual representation of rampant capitalism getting its comeuppance? For once the wealthy are in the front line while the remaining 98% is barely affected.
Are people being arseholes for noticing this? Or do they have a point?
Dear Absolute Waterfront,
Show some respect. They’ve lost a swimming pool.
With kind regards,
